Luke Allen began writing at the age of twelve, creating humorous advice columns to read to his parents to make them laugh. Although he didn’t date, he continued writing lovelorn columns that dealt with dating issues, in high school, to entertain his classmates. In later years, he carried his desire to help others, to working as a paraprofessional in the field of Domestic Violence and later received a Bachelor’s in Human Services from Chestnut Hill College, in Philadelphia, PA, and worked in the field of addiction.
His first play, The Wire Monkey, based on Harlow's Love Experiment, was staged at the Performance Garage in Philadelphia, in 2012, and received a standing ovation. Luke went on to write and stage two more plays, Bootless Cries and Hard. He later produced three documentaries, Gender Journeys: More Than a Pronoun, Gender Journeys: Addiction, Homelessness and Trade and Race to the Stage, a documentary about racism in theater and films.
Luke has supported area artists, as Executive Producer of Going Wanting for Puddy Dance Company, in 2014, and as Executive Producer of Beyond My Skin, written and directed by Aniya Wolfe.
